Why Birth Time Matters

Your birth time determines your Ascendant (Rising Sign) and the house positions of all planets. Without an accurate birth time:

• The Rising Sign will be incorrect
• House positions will be off
• Some interpretations won’t apply

If you don’t know your exact birth time, you can still generate a chart, but it will use noon as a default and won’t include house positions or the Ascendant.

Yes. The calculator uses the Swiss Ephemeris, the same data source used by professional astrology software. Positions are accurate to within fractions of a degree.

What’s the difference between tropical and sidereal?

Tropical astrology (Western) is based on the seasons and the vernal equinox. Sidereal astrology (Vedic) is based on the actual positions of constellations. This calculator defaults to tropical but offers sidereal as an option.

Do I need to know astrology to use this?

No. Each placement comes with plain-language interpretations. You don’t need prior knowledge to understand your chart.

Can I generate charts for other people?

Yes. You can generate charts for anyone as long as you have their birth date, time, and location. This is useful for comparing charts (synastry) or understanding friends and family.

Is my birth data stored?

Charts are generated on my backend server. Your birth data is not sold or shared with third parties.
